“Andrew is a really nice guy and the family was in a really sad situation. Wife has stage 4 ovarian cancer which has metastasized . DHS helped him to apply as caregiver. Advisors with DHS were helping but it is really slow. Maybe someone there out sick and not enough personnel per advisor. In any case, he could not leave her to drive. They have 2 teenage daughters in the house. They are involved in sports and other activities at school and Mom and Dad were trying to keep their lives as normal as possible by not asking them to stay home and miss school and other activities to take care of mom. That would be the only way dad could work.”
